In this connection I enclose copy of corres-

-pondence with the Chamber of Commerce on this subject.

I learn from paragraph 3 of your Despatch

under acknowledgment that compulsory sale is inadmissible, and

from the memorandum of the Comptroller that anything more than a temporary suspension of a mark would not be countenanced by the

Board of Trade.

In these circumstances I do not propose to

take any action pending such further instructions as you may wish

to give me.
